I’m excited to announce that The Loss of What Is Past, the sequel to my award-winning debut novel The Lightning in the Collied Night, is now on sale in paperback and e-book formats on major book sites including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Alibris, Apple Books, and ThriftBooks, and is also available at a big discount in the USA and UK on the sequel’s home page.

The sequel continues and elaborates on the story I began in Lightning. Almost all of its characters return, but the sequel breaks new ground, also. It’s a different kind of story than Lightning. Some of the themes from my first novel are present, but I think you’ll find that the sequel is a more intimate story. More than anything, it’s the story about a family—their challenges and triumphs, and the extraordinary events in their lives. And as the book’s tag line, How far would you go for love?, hints at, it’s about how, as Captain Kirk once said, too much of anything, even love, isn’t necessarily a good thing.

I hope you enjoy the sequel as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life. It was a challenging undertaking, given I hadn’t planned on a sequel when I wrote Lightning.
